It’s been called the best venue for live music in Charlotte NC. It’s hosted some of the most popular artists and bands of all time. It has given local bands the shot at making the big time. And it’s offered some of the cheapest tickets and drinks you will find at a live show. I’m speaking of Amos’ Southend, and if you’ve never visited this amazing venue for an event you are missing out big time. Amos’ is a huge part of the music scene in Charlotte and is likely to play that role for years to come. So if you’re looking for a good place to catch a concert, look no further than Amos’ Southend.

Amos’ is open seven days a week and brings music from every genre to the stage all the time. The crew at Amos’ isn’t against any type of music– they will book any band or artist that can sell tickets. Countless acts have played at the venue, most notably: Avenged Sevenfold, Black Label Society, Snoop Dogg, Hanson, Skid Row, Dokken, Asking Alexandria, Sevendust, Wu-Tang Clan, Talib Kweli, and many many more. They’ve also hosted a lot of tribute bands like Appetite For Destruction, a Guns N’ Roses tribute; Who’s Bad, a Michael Jackson band; Led Zeppelin tribute acts, Zoso and Kashmir; and Ride the Lightning, a Metallica band. Most of these bands go the extra mile and not only play the music of the band/artist they are paying homage to, but dress like them and put on a stage show very similar to the original artist. Most importantly, Amos’ gives lots of love to local bands in the area, allowing many of our best local artists to open for bigger name acts. There are always bands on the rise from the Charlotte area and Amos’ is a great place to both hear new music and support these musicians trying to make their dreams come true.
Although music is the main attraction, they also have events like Midget Wrestling and the very popular Purgatory, a fetish party that takes place quite often at the club. These types of events are always exciting and uncommon at other places in the area.
Amos’ is the perfect place to go see a concert or event and not break your bank account. Most events cost between the $20-$30 price range. You can find tickets to certain events for as low as $5 sometimes and occasionally snag a ticket to a free show! The low ticket prices will give you enough spending money to grab a few drinks from the fully stocked bar they have as well. Beers and liquor are rarely priced above $10, so you can have more than one drink without going into debt, too!
From the bartenders to the sound techs to the staff working the door, you’ll always be greeted with a smile and feel comfortable at Amos.’ Speaking personally, I have visited this venue more than any other for concerts and I am never disappointed. I highly recommend this venue for any event and suggest you check their calendar regularly. I’m sure you’ll find something that sparks your interest. Make sure to come out to some of the shows spotlighting Charlotte’s local talent as well. There’s nothing like finding a new band and music to fall in love with!
