Give an early farewell to February and an appreciative greeting to March. Beginning this Friday night – March 1st – at just about any hot venue in Charlotte. Grits & Biscuits hits The Fillmore Friday at 9pm. Over at Amos’ Southend is the 7th Annual Charlotte Takeover featuring Familiar Faces and Black Alley; doors are at 8:30pm. At the Visulite Theater will be collaborative blues rock group American Aquarium, preceded by Elonzo. Doors are at 8pm with the opening band going on at 8:45; the headliners at 10pm.
There’s guaranteed options on Saturday evening – March 2nd – beginning with the world famous Michael Jackson tribute band Who’s Bad. Channel your inner Thriller beginning at 8pm at Amos’ Southend with $15 tickets in advance and at the door. If you’d rather have a night of modern electronic rock, visit the Visulite Theater and check out headliners Cement Stars preceded by Modern Man, Knives & Daggers, and Jah Sun Rising. First band goes on at 9pm.
Check out The Fillmore Tuesday night – March 5th – to get a kick out of Dropkick Murphys. Show begins at 8pm. If you need something a little more crazy for a mid week jumpstart, get to Amos’ Tuesday night by 7pm to check out Mushroomhead with Final Trigger, Gemini Syndrome, Society’s Plague, and Absolute Convixtion.
Celebrate hump day at the Visulite Wednesday night – March 6th – with North Carolina’s own Songs of Water. A seven piece ensemble that has a sound which varies from acoustic to heavy percussion. This is sure to be an interesting middle of the week treat. Starting at 8pm and tickets only $10, there’s not much about this show that’s not likeable.
